Susan graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Occupational Therapy in 1978. During her fieldwork with Rosemary Johnson in 1978, she discovered her passion for working in pediatrics. In 1979, Susan became a co-owner and director of the newly formed Rosemary Johnson and Associates Clinic, Inc. Since that time, Susan has been an integral part of expanding the clinic’s programs. She is certified in administration and interpretation of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests, Therapeutic Listening, and Interactive Metronome. She also has extensive knowledge in administration and interpretation of a multitude of pediatric developmental and sensory assessments. She has a wide-range of experience working with infants, preschoolers, as well as school-aged children. In addition to her many administrative responsibilities, Susan consults and provides inservices to many public and non-public schools in the San Gabriel Valley. She continues to provide direct therapy in the clinic and at schools as well as supervises and mentors students and staff.
Susan grew up in Pasadena and continues to reside there with her husband and sons. Her daughter is also an occupational therapist and resides in Chicago. Susan enjoys traveling, reading, cheering for the Dodgers, playing mah johngg, and (of course) chocolate!
Joanne graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Occupational Therapy in 1978. In high school, she worked each summer with children with special needs, and realized she loved it. In 1979, Joanne became a co-owner of Rosemary Johnson and Associates Clinic. Since that time, Joanne has expanded her skills and is certified in administration and interpretation of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests, Therapeutic Listening, and Interactive Metronome to name a few. She has experience working with infants through high school aged children. Joanne consults with and provides in-services to parent groups and schools in the San Gabriel Valley. In addition to supervising and mentoring occupational therapy students and staff, Joanne continues to provide treatment in the school and clinic settings.
Joanne grew up on the Peabody/Vanderbilt campus in Tennessee and was one of the subjects used to develop treatment techniques and assessments still in use today. She moved to California when she was in 4th grade and presently resides in Pasadena with her family.
Cindy earned a bachelors degree in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1989. After various jobs including teaching English abroad, public accounting and television production, she found a career perfectly suited for her in occupational therapy. Cindy earned a masters degree in occupational therapy in 1999 at cross-town rival U.S.C., but remains true to her blue and gold Bruin roots. She has been a therapist at Rosemary Johnson & Associates since 1999, working with the most amazing and talented women, including her very own sister. She enjoys putting her years of experience to use and implementing treatment modalities such as Interactive Metronome.
Cindy lives in the Mt. Washington area of Los Angeles with her husband and two school-aged children. She is a Dave Matthews fan and TV junkie who enjoys organizing social activities for the clinic staff, cooking, traveling, and keeping up with her kids.
Although a second generation Pasadenian, Marty attended Valparaiso University in Indiana for three years. She then graduated from the University of Southern California in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. She continued on to complete her masters in Occupational Therapy in 1987. As part of her pediatric experience, she completed Sensory Integration 610 with A. Jean Ayres, the primer theorist in Sensory Integration. She has worked at Rosemary Johnson & Associates since 2004 and is certified in Therapeutic Listening and Interactive Metronome.
Prior to Rosemary Johnson & Associates, Marty worked at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena in a variety of settings, including adults and pediatrics. Earlier pediatric experience includes City of Hope National Medical Center.
Marty is married with three children. A highlight for Marty and her family was living abroad for 5 years in Wellington, New Zealand and 7 months in Paris, France. Marty enjoys riding her bike to work and is the founder of the Rosemary Johnson & Associates monthly book club.
Christy graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Psychology. She then went on to earn her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles in 1996. Her final three month internship was spent at the Simi Valley Hospital Child Development Center. It was here that she discovered her calling to work in a pediatric setting with a supportive group of professionals including occupational, speech and music therapists. She was then hired on at the Child Development Center at the conclusion of her internship and remained there until 2005. She worked extensively in the clinic, school and home settings with children of all ages and diagnoses. After moving to Glendora with her family in 2005, she began to search for a similar pediatric setting with a supportive team environment. She found the ideal match at Rosemary Johnson and Associates and was hired in September 2005. Christy has a passion for helping children achieve there highest level of motor functioning and also supporting the entire family.
Christy was born and raised in Southern California. She currently resides in Glendora with her husband and three young children. She enjoys swimming, reading, and traveling in her spare time.
Cristy graduated from Cal State Northridge with a degree in Physical Therapy in 1985. Before arriving at the best job ever here at Rosemary Johnson and Associates, Cristy worked in a variety of physical therapy settings including: Acute Rehab, Home Health, Skilled Nursing and Sports Medicine. While working in sports medicine, Cristy became interested in manual therapy. Manual therapy works to improve and correct physical structures in the body, which allows for greater improvements in function. Cristy is experienced in a variety of integrated manual therapy techniques, such as myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, neuro-tension technique and the Jones’s technique of strain-counter strain. Cristy continues to enjoy fine tuning her skills. Cristy also has experience with The Listening Program®, Interactive Metronome®, and KinesioTaping. Cristy became a certified Brain Gym® instructor in 2006 and a Naet® practitioner in 2011.
Cristy became involved in pediatrics after the birth of her special needs son, Parker. She has seen first hand the remarkable improvements that can be made in a child’s life. Cristy lives with her husband, son and her dog, Moe, in Sierra Madre.
Elizabeth graduated from the University of Southern California in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in English Literature. Originally planning on a career in medicine, she was divinely redirected after learning about occupational therapy from a flier in a random undergraduate general education course. Elizabeth went on to receive a Masters in Occupational Therapy from USC in 2006, focusing on school-based services. In 2007, she completed her doctoral project entitled “From Doing to Becoming: Discovering Identity through Occupation,” a program designed to address the social, educational, and physical needs of typically developing middle school students in non-public schools. Elizabeth was introduced to Rosemary Johnson and Associates during her first long-term fieldwork experience and was blessed with the opportunity to become a therapist there upon the completion of her occupational therapy degree. She is certified in Therapeutic Listening and couldn’t be happier practicing in both the school and clinic setting.
Born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley, Elizabeth resides in Pomona with her husband and growing family. She enjoys reading, dancing, and learning new things. She is also the lead singer in a band and promotes love and peace between Trojans and Bruins everywhere, especially in her workplace.
Erin graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. After working for several years as a physical therapy aide, she returned to school to complete her education. Erin received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008 from Western University of Health Sciences. During that time, Erin complete an internship with California Children’s Services where her desire to work in the field of pediatrics was confirmed. Upon completion of her degree, Erin sought a pediatric clinic that would provide a supportive environment and challenge her as an individual. Rosemary Johnson and Associates provided a perfect fit and Erin was hired in January 2009.
Heather graduated from Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. Upon graduation, Heather served a one year term as an AmeriCorps member at a local public health department where she discovered her passion for helping others. After completing her AmeriCorps term, she spent a few years in public heath research at the University of Southern California Center for Community Health Studies, but eventually decided to pursue occupational therapy to return to helping people more directly. She earned her masters degree in Occupational Therapy from University of Southern California in May 2012. Her fieldwork experiences were in acute rehab and pediatric settings—including her first Level II fieldwork at Rosemary Johnson & Associates. Upon finishing her graduate program, she was fortunate enough to be invited back to join Rosemary Johnson and Associate’s amazing team of experienced and knowledgeable therapists.
Originally an East Coaster, Heather has fallen in love with Southern California, especially where she resides in Pasadena where she enjoys going on trail runs, visiting the beach, and exploring the area’s plethora of culinary offerings.
Alexis graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Art History and Spanish. After exploring various career options she decided to move home to Los Angeles, and earned her master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Southern California in 2009. Since then, Alexis has worked in a variety of pediatric settings and loves working with kids and their families! Alexis loves working at Rosemary Johnson with an amazing group of therapists (including her Aunt & cousin!). She has taken specialized coursework focusing on sensory integration, feeding and oral motor therapies, handwriting, self-regulation, and neurodevelopmental therapy techniques. She also designed and maintains this awesome website!
Alexis lives in her hometown of Pasadena with her husband, adorable son, and two cats. She loves exploring the city for new adventurous food, crafting, doodling everywhere, and spending as much time as possible with family and friends.
Isabel graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science and Education. She has always had a passion for working with children and found the perfect match with pediatric occupational therapy. Isabel continued her education and earned a Master of Arts degree in occupational therapy from University of Southern California in May 2013. While at USC, she took specialized coursework related to pediatrics and sensory integration and gained clinical experience working with both adult and pediatric populations. She is excited to be a part of such a wonderful team at Rosemary Johnson and looks forward to working with each child and their family.
Elaine graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health Policy. After her discovery of occupational therapy, she began shadowing a school-based occupational therapist followed by volunteer work with the outpatient adult population at Rancho Los Amigos. Elaine continued her education and training at the University of Southern California where she received her Master of Arts degree in occupational therapy in 2014. During her studies, she had the opportunity to complete a fieldwork at Rosemary Johnson and Associates which strengthened her passion for working in pediatrics.
Elaine loves to spend her free time with family and friends, especially making weekend trips to Irvine, San Diego, San Francisco, and Las Vegas to visit them!
Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Tamara spent 26 years bearing the northeast winters before deciding that sunny California was a must! She completed her undergraduate work in 2007 at William Smith College in Geneva, NY where she earned a bachelor's degree in biology. After working as a physical therapy aide for 3 years, Tamara returned to school to complete her education. She attended Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, graduating in May 2014 with a doctorate in physical therapy. Tamara has always had a passion working with children, and after completing a pediatric rotation decided pediatric physical therapy was where she belonged.
Mai graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Psychology degree in 2010. She thoroughly enjoyed her time up north but decided to come back home to the LA area to start her Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy program at USC. She finished her masters degree in 2015 and was very happy to work in a pediatric setting as an occupational therapist!
During her free time, she likes to bake desserts, knit cozy winter hats, run at the park, and spend time with her friends and big family. She loves to eat as much as she bakes and is always looking for new recipes to try from her 600+ page desserts book!
Melissa graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Global and International Studies and Spanish. Following in her mother's footsteps, she decided to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy after working as a therapy aide for a number of years. She earned her master's of science degree in occupational therapy from Washington University in St. Louis in 2011. She moved to Chicago, Illinois upon graduation where she worked at a Therapeutic Day School for children with emotional/behavioral disorders and then moved on to work in the Early Intervention setting. In 2015, she moved back to Pasadena to join her mother's practice at Rosemary Johnson and Associates. She has taken a variety of specialized coursework including yoga therapy, feeding therapy, Handwriting Without Tears, self regulation, and sensory integration. She loves her job and working with all children and their families!
Melissa lives in her hometown of Pasadena with her husband and her dog Lola. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking her dog, traveling, exploring new places to eat, going to the movies, and binge watching shows on Netflix.
